HCU Police Department
Committed to Safety
The 91修车厂 Police Department is tasked with providing a safe and peaceful campus.聽 This is a challenge in today鈥檚 world; our on-campus police are well equipped to meet this and other challenges. One of the major functions of our officers is to patrol the HCU campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and to be of service to our students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
In order to maintain peace and safety on campus, the HCU Police also rely on the awareness of every member of the HCU community. It is essential that you remain aware of your surroundings and report any unusual or suspicious activity. The officers would much rather respond to a call that turns out to be nothing than to write an incident report after a situation occurs in which they had no opportunity to intervene.
Functions of the University Police include, but are not limited to:
- Responding to call boxes
- Investigating all crimes reported on campus
- Patrolling
- Enforcement of local and state laws
- Crime prevention
- Parking permits and enforcement
- After-hours gate access
Emergency Call boxes are strategically located across campus and ring directly to the University Police Department. Their locations are shown on the聽Campus Map.
Our Authority
The 91修车厂 Police Department is fully recognized by the State of Texas as a certified police department for the express purpose of providing law enforcement services for the HCU community, its guests and visitors, and to monitor the overall security needs of campus property.
The 91修车厂 Police Department and other police departments at private Colleges and Universities receive their policing authority from Texas Education Code, Chapter 51.212, and are Texas Peace Officers.
